  • Sarvalokaa's Christmas Carnival - Poster

View All Print Designs View All Projects Sarvalokaa's Christmas Carnival - Poster Chettinad Sarvalokaa Education International School hosted an event called Christmas Carnival in December 2019. The theme for Sarvalokaa’s Christmas Carnival 2019 was ‘US: Understanding & Sharing’. The idea was to focus on instilling the quality of giving and sharing, in the students of the school. Understanding the needs of our community, sharing with our fellow peers and community members, giving to the ones who truly cannot afford a bright Christmas was the objective. We were required to create a poster design that was to be put up in the school campus, intriguing students, and parents to come and enjoy the carnival. The final poster was a combination of a visual which was a Christmas cake decorated with icing, cream, cherries and text (i.e., the content of the poster) was written in the form of the icing topped on the cake. The idea was to have a Christmas cake with all the necessary information written on the cake with the help of the cake icing. We also created other media for the school including their identity. The forest gives them major and minor produce helping them sustainably gain their livelihood. It also guides them around planting trees and managing them, checking dams, bunding and check soil erosion. At the heart of this movement is Mr. Brian Lobo who selflessly works towards helping the villagers reaching these goals. They required a symbol to be recognized by the villagers. We arrived at the symbol after many iterations were created. This symbol that was eventually selected via popular votes in the village. Trees exemplify growth and strength. The forest symbolizes the nurturing of a mother. The hand symbolizes generosity, hospitality, and stability. The main invitation turned into a desk calendar while the Sangeet invitation turned into a bookmark. The illustration on the card was inspired from the Rajathani Folk Art - Mandana. Through the process, Ainak Studio made sure they involved local artisans, by understanding more about their art form, this made us realize that these folk arts are extremely respectful in their communities and we couldn't directly draw them. View All Print Designs View All Projects Verve 2020 Vidyalankar Institute of Technology is an engineering degree college based in Mumbai, India. It has been accredited by National assessment and accreditation with A+ grade in 2019. We were required to design the stage-backdrop for their annual festival VERVE. The director of the institute wanted us to celebrate artists and artistes in some manner - thereby encouraging the engineering students to also be open to creative pursuits. We conducted a workshop with the students to understand their perspective. We then shortlisted and illustrated 58 personalities from the field of Science, Performing Arts and Sports. Inspiring words spoken by them were used to motivate the viewer and balance the white space as vertical graphic-elements. Since we were printing on an unsustainable material - flex boards - we decided to split the entire decor into vertical rectangular panels. Each of these panels would have a few illustrations of these personalities and a motivational quote. Once the festival is over - these panels are to be put up in the hallway of the college as interior posters. We were required to design the cover. The cover needed to be a representation of all what the articles in the magazine carried. We moved away from any sort of gory depictions of visuals. The cover also had to be representative of most species that are affected by the trade. Due to the elaborate detailing in the drawing, we minimized the usage of colour in them. • Drawing Mumbai's Wildlife

Drawing Mumbai's Wildlife We were asked to conduct a sustainability related workshop as a part of Agastya's Curiosity Carnival. In batches, each spanning across 45 minutes, we helped 110 plus participants (mostly young students from various schools) paint Leopard faces on Betelnut-leaf plates.
