Design, Art, and the Natural World
I am Ashvini Menon — an environmental communication designer and visual storyteller based in India.
For over six years I led AMVDS, a multidisciplinary design studio focused entirely on sustainable design solutions — building visual identities, telling environmental stories, and training communities to communicate with purpose. That work earned press, recognition, and built a certainty that design, when pointed at the right problems, is one of the most powerful tools we have.
Since 2017, I've drawn editorial cartoons — published in The Hindu and Protected Area Update — holding a mirror to the way we treat our natural environment. One frame at a time.
Today, I also work as a Lead UX Designer at Salesforce India, building enterprise experiences for the Life Sciences and Healthcare field. That work has sharpened my systems thinking and given me fluency in the complex, high-stakes organisations that now need environmental communication most — the ones with the budgets, the mandates, and the pressure to actually change.
Early on, working as an intern & fullt-time UX Designer at Microsoft India introduced me to the craft of designing for how people actually think.
My academic foundation runs deep: a Masters in Graphic Design from NID Ahmedabad — where I discovered the scale of what design can do for social impact — and a Bachelors in Applied Art from Rachana Sansad, Mumbai, where the love for communication design first took root.
